Approaches to Learning

I am sure you have noticed this in the hallway....but it might not make complete sense to you, and if you're as frazzled as I am after a day of work, maybe you haven't had the time to even really take it in.  The frames contain the elements from the North Carolina preschool standards; they are called the Approaches to Learning.  They highlight the many different ways that young children learn/experience learning.  Watch Me Grow is committed to enhancing these various approaches as we go through the beginning of the learning process with your child/ren.

Risk-taking, Problem Solving, Flexibility

Persistence, Attentiveness, Responsibility

Imagination, Creativity, and Invention

Aesthetic Sensibility

Through these Approaches to Learning we incorporate all of the important learning areas:  math, early literacy, social/emotional/cultural studies, science, art/music/drama, fine and gross motor.

Parents, Family, Friends of Watch Me Grow Academy,

It is with great pleasure that we unveil to you this new website to keep you informed, educated and entertained with the many wonderful things that take place inside our walls.  Our staff is very busy enhancing the curriculum, experimenting with new lessons and new lesson plans, and furthering our knowledge of how to give your children the richest, most complete, up to date and quality educational child care experience in the area.  As you navigate this website you will find different pages to look through at the top.  They will give you more information on what is going on in specific classrooms.  You will see different polls for parents, and we hope to have a list of important links that you may find helpful for yourself or your child.  Please note that while there will be photos of activities that your child may be participating in, no photos of children's faces will be included, nor will we disclose the names of any children in the center.  As we proceed, we hope you look to this website to keep you informed as well of current or future closings, reminders, and even wish lists.  If you have any thing you would be interested in seeing on this site, or have any other suggestions, we would love to hear them!
